SOURCE: need to replace the starter on a 1994 Geo Prizm

starters are actually pretty easy. usually just 2 or 3 bolts holding it on. Just disconnect the battery first. Remove the bolts and the starter and then installation is reversal of removal.
Hope this helps,

the engine type dictates what wiring car has. (partly)

fix the stuck blinkers first. this implies, either ignition switch failure

or gross wiring errors, hacks gone wrong.

the key swtich does turn off blinker power feed.

I'm working on a 97 geo prizm and need to find the ignition relay,I rplaced the ignition switch and have no power getting to the switch, there is power at the harness and I can bypass the switch an

If you can jump it at the switch and get it to start, then the ignition relay must be working. It is hard to tell from your post but I think you are using power from another source to do this? I am thinking you have a blown fuse on the wire the furnishes power to you ignition switch.

I have a 97 geo prizm...when i turn the key it majes a clicking sound from underneath the hood and it only starts after i turn the key a few times.............HELP

Sounds like you need an ignition. Turn your key to the on position and cross the terminals on your starter with a screwdriver. Do this several times (Have somebody turn the key off and back to the n position). If it starts like this every time You need to replace the ignition. Or you can replace the whole column, sometimes this is easier then replacing just the ignition.

Key igntion switch is stuck

I would suggest wiggling the shifter up past park. It may loosen it up. Also you can lightly tap around ignition to get the pins inside to release.
