If all the other windows work when the passenger window won't move (during the 5 min period), then the passenger side motor is bad. If the motor pulls too much amperage, the circuit breaker that is built into the motor will trip, until it cools down.

The rear windows on my 2000 chevy tahoe won't work. i can hear power in the buttons when i press them but they don't move.

Hello -

The motors for your car's power windows may be failing and will need to be replaced. I've personally experienced the same problem, more than once, with a different auto make and model.

Or, the window glass may have come off the track which holds it.

Unless you can do the work yourself, you will eventually need to take your car to a reputable auto mechanic and have the work done. It is not inexpensive, by the way.

The information here may help you remediate the problems temporarity:

Best wishes.

94 T-Bird - Passenger side window

can you see the window assembly.. you should be able to see the gears for the window crank as it sounds like the gears are stripping... You should be able to get to the bolts that are holding the window assembly to the door.

94 Lumina Van Passenger Window

I would plan on a new motor, to chage it yourself may be more than you want to do. To change the motor you will need to remove the regulator that is the devise that attaches to the window and rolls it up and down. Once you have it out of the door the motor bolts to it. (if this van has the cable driven regulator it will be easier to change out)
