Sliding door is not sealing properly

The driver side sliding door moves fine and latches but it does not seal all the way. I noticed there was more road noise coming from that side and I just took it through the car wash which resulted in a wet seat and water and suds on the rug just inside the door. I want to know if there is a way that I can adjust the door so that it seals better.

2004 Toyota Sienna. Driver side sliding door problem.

It is not clear whether your key fob continues to work for the passenger side door. If it does not, you should replace the battery in the fob. Such batteries are available at Wal-Mart among the batteries. If the sliding door on the driver's side makes a noise but fails to open when you use the fob, the latch motor maiy have failed. If the cable in the side door has frayed and snapped, this would explain why you can manually open and close the door but the electronics won't move the door. And if while trying to close it manually, the door fails to latch properly, this is why you get an alarm. If the latch motor, cables, or any other components are malfunctioning, it could lead to the door not closing securely, triggering the alarm. Check your latch mechanism and cables. If you can determine the malfunctioning part and replace it yourself, that is cheaper than going through the dealer. 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. What would stop the sliding door from latching?

There could be several reasons why your 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan sliding door is not latching properly. Here are some possible causes:
  1. Obstruction in the Door Track: Check the door track for any debris, dirt, or foreign objects that may be blocking the door from closing fully. Clean the track and remove any obstructions.
  2. Broken or Misaligned Door Hinges: If the door hinges are damaged or misaligned, the door may not close properly. Inspect the hinges for any signs of damage or wear and replace them if necessary.
  3. Damaged Latch or Actuator: The latch or actuator that holds the door in place may be damaged or malfunctioning, preventing the door from closing properly. Inspect the latch and actuator for any signs of damage and replace them if necessary.
  4. Dead Battery: If the battery in your Dodge Grand Caravan is weak or dead, the electronic functions of the sliding door may not work properly. Check the battery and replace it if necessary.
  5. Faulty Door Control Module: The sliding door may be controlled by a door control module, which may be faulty or damaged. Have the control module tested and replaced if necessary.
In any case, it's recommended that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic or dealership to diagnose and fix the issue, especially if you are unable to get the door closed manually.

2012 Toyota Camry SE - Key locked in trunk with car is locked. Is there a way to get in without locksmith?

you can 'fish' a coat hanger through the door seal to press the unlock button on the armrest, or slide down along window into the door's body to attempt to manually work the locking mechanism... a slim-jim is helpful here but can be done w/ coat hanger. WARNING!: this may damage your paint or the door seal or both, or the window seal.... once in the main body of the car...trip the lever

My husband took my Odyssey through the car wash in -4 degree temps. A few hours later after opening the sliding doors we couldn't get them to shut automatically. Today one door will open and close...

On the 05 Odyssey there's a problem with the rear latch assembly(about $140each) located in the rear of each sliding door. The problem is that the latch assembly was not seal proplery and water can get into the latch cause the sliding door to act funny. Maybe replace the latch assembly will help you.

The door seal on drivers side door has a lot of wind noise. I would like to adjust the door to lessen the air noise, but i do not know how to adjust the door.

the seal is leaking and needs to be replaced, you could try rubbing it down with a lite coat of vasalene, vasaleng swells the seal...if your door is adjustable it is done on the door stop where your door latches to, looks like a u shaped peice with 2 usually star head bolts some u can loosen and move one way or the other.

Both driver-side door latches stick when opening requiring a little extra tug to open the door. Had them lubed, but no help.

Be sure it's not something that was sprayed or spilled onto your rubber noise/weather seals that line the interior of the door. Sometimes detail shops use things other than Armor All and it causes a sticky seal. Listen for a noise, if not, maybe your latch needs adjusted (the part on the door jamb, not the latch on the door). This could cause you to break a door handle in the winter.

Drivers door wont open iside or out all seems fine but nothing works

It sounds like your linkage has disconnected from the latch. I guess your door is stuck shut. It may be possible, but really hard, but you could try to slide something into the window and try to hit the latch release. It'll be tricky though... If you do manage to pop the door open that way, you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you have to pull back the seal covering the door in order to access the linkage assembly from inside the door
