Most older over seas cars it will the only way to find out for sure is call a dearer and ask about a timing belt and if its an interference motor

If there is no original remote try to find a switch that may be hidden but accessible from the drivers seat, if the alarm is no longer needed find an auxilliary wire that may be on the battery or the fuse panel, if original there may be a fuse under the hood, pull the fuse and it should disable the alarn system.

They range from $30 to $60 for aftermarket ones. Oem nissan timing belt will cost you a bit more.

Timing beit cut,could not start after replacement
this is an interference engine meaning if engine turns out of time due to a broken timing belt the pistons can contact and bend...in this case the intake valves.if belt is on properly perform compression and leakdown tests to confirm damage to valves..sorry for bad news.

Very much so. They have a belt on the timing and it can slip, loose a couple of teeth or break. You have a no tolerance engine, so I recommend you get it fixed. If the belt breaks, the pistons can slap and bend the valves. Alot more work and money.

Need to set the timing on a 1990 maxima
im not sure about your car but some cars are interference engines,meaning if the timing belt breaks the valves will hit the pistons and it will bend the valves and the car will not run again just by putting a new belt on it,,hopefully thats not the case but alot of import cars are interference engines,,good luck
