Autozone will check the codes for free .Itsounds like a secondary ignition problem possible plug wires :)

you may have to drive it several days for the light to go off, or have the codes cleared. personally I would just drive it. if the computer tests it, and it passes the test, it will go off on its own.

once the vehical is repaired simply take the vehical to your local autozone or kragen store and have them hook up the free handheld diagnostic machine and have them clear the code i do this quite often

Hi. the recommended action is to use a diagnostic CPU. Once attached to the in-car port under the dash, you can use this CPU to clear, and reset the DTC. There is another way, as well. You can , simply, pull the negative battery cable for 5 to 10 minutes. This will force the DTC to be cleared, thus, causing the light to shut down for a short time.
