Check the relays for the power unlock. They are in one of the fuse panels. Push the door unlock button and find the relay that is clicking. This should fix your problem

08 dodge ram key FOB reprogramming

ATTENTION: You MUST HAVE one working remote to add one more to the system. If you do not have one working remote right now then these instructions will not work. You will have to have a Locksmith or dealership use a computer to program the first remote for you.

Click here to find a Locksmith in your area to program this remote.
1. Enter your vehicle and close all doors.

2. Fasten your seat belt ( fastening the seat belt will cancel any chiming that may
confuse you during this programming procedure.)

3. Place key into the ignition.

4. Turn the ignition to the ON position ( DO NOT START THE ENGINE )

5. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on a working remote.

6. Continue to hold the UNLOCK button, wait at least 4 seconds, but no longer than
10 seconds, then press and hold PANIC button.

7. When a single chime is heard, release both buttons. The chime indicates the system
is in program mode.

8. Press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons, simultaneoulsly on the remote
to be programmed.

9. A single chime will be heard. The chime indicates the the remote was recognized.

10. Within 4 seconds of hearing the chime, press and release any button on the remote
being programmed.

11. A single chime will be heard The chime indicates the remote has been programmed.

12. Repeat steps 8 to 11 for a total of 4 remotes.

13. Turn the ignition to the OFF position or wait 60 seconds to exit program mode.

How do I program an additional remote for my 2003 Durango

  • You must have a programmed FOB to program another at home with my instructions below. If you don't have programmed one then you must get the first one programmed at the dealer.

  1. Press LOCK button 5 times at 2 second intervals to re-synchronize remote.
  2. Insert key into the ignition switch.
  3. Turn ignition to the run (no start.)
  4. Wait for ignition chimes to stop.
  5. Using the working remote, press and hold the UNLOCK button on the remote for 4 to 10
  6. seconds.
  7. Within the specified 4 to 10 seconds, continue to hold the UNLOCK button and then press the PANIC button ( on the programmed remote ) for 1 second and release both buttons. A chime will sound to indicate that the remote programming mode has been entered ( allow 3 seconds for chime to sound ).
  8. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously then press and release just the UNLOCK button on the same remote.
  9. A chime will sound indicating the remote has been programmed. Press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously and then press the UNLOCK button on each new remote you wish to program at this time. Locks will cycle after each additional remote is programmed.
  10. Turn the ignition OFF and remove key.
  11. Try your remote.
  • Hope this helps.

Neither of our remotes would unlock our doors on our 2003 Silverado Z71 the other day. So we tried by unlocking it with the key. That did'nt work either. Finally, we put the key in the lock and waited for...

TRY Relearning the remotes. to do this get in vehicle with doors closed hold the unlock button down on drivers door while you cut key on and off two or three times you should hear locks cycle and horn chirp. let go of unlock button and hold both lock and unlock button down on one key fob for 15 seconds or so you will see locks cycle move to next remote and do same. then cut key on to exit learn mode. as far as door not unlocking with key this is a problem with lock cylinder most likely.

Replaced the battery in the remote, but still nothing when I go to lock or unlock my door or set off the alarm, nothing happens.

Your remote needs to be "reprogrammed" after battery replacement. Not sure if yours is done in this manner. This is how my remote is reprogrammed on my 1999 Corvette. Stand beside drivers side door, point remote at the car while holding the Lock and Unlock buttons at the same time. Within 10-15 seconds the horn should beep letting you know the reprogramming was successful.
