Yes , your neon has a interference engine , it will bend valves , put holes in pistons .

My Neon just stopped dead and I think that ithe timing belt came loose or broke. Since the engine is n interference engine and likely damaged the engine, how can I test to see if the timing belt is broke?...

no you need to remove the inspection cover overtiming belt the turn engine over by hand with a socket and ratchet

you can go to auto zone and tell them you need a routing diagram for the serpentine belt on your 2.0., they should be able to make you one. have a good day !! are you sure there is not a diagram under hood.

Need help with harmonic balancer and timing We have the balancer but need the diagram or specs for timing. Timing belt broke trying to put it back on and time it. Dodge Voyager 1997

2001 Plymouth neon needs tensioner assembly

Most tensioners have a bolt on the other side of the twnsion pulley, if not you have to replace the tensioner with the base.

There should be a diagram on your hood or on the frame in front of your radiator. If not, there will be a diagram in your users manual. If you don't have that, post again and i'll try and find one on the internet.
