I have a Grand Voyager with 165,000 miles. As I was investigating why the horn is not working, I noticed that the car battery was getting weak, to the point that the engine would not start. Once I jumped the car, everything was okay. Then I learned the radio would not work, and the door switch would not lock or unlock the door.
I replaced the battery and replaced the clock-spring under the steeling wheel. The car started up well and the horn, cruise control and aribag are now working find. The radio, appears to be dead and the power is going to the radio but no lights or sound. The radio needs to be replaced.
The door lock switch will not lock or unlock the door. If the key is in the ignition and in the "ON" position, the door switch will work only to unlock. if ther engine is running, the door switch will lock and unlock the door with no problems. Can you tell me what has gone wrong with the door switch not working, with the key out of the ignition with the door open or closed? The car does not have a Remote Keyless Entry.
Also, I have noticed that I'm able to move the shift handle from PRND3L, without the key in the ignition. Is this problem related to the door lock problem?
There is a pink wire that is an all time power wire and it has lost power I just had the same problem so what I did it I took the stereo out of the dash "mine is aftermarket" I then ran a wire form an orange wire under the steering wheel "which is hot with the key off" and then from that orange wire to the pink wire behind the stereo and everything started working again like it was supposed to. If you have any more problems email me at [email protected] and ill try to help
