After Market Radio Installation

I am trying to install an aftermarket CD/Radio. The system I have now has an Aux Tape Player. When I install the Aftermarket Radio I Do Not get anything from the speakers. The original Radio has two sets of plugs in the back of the radio. The speakers will not work unless both plugs are connected to the original radio.

Hey man, you have an amplified system. use a 70-1858 wiring harness and jump the blue/white wire from the aftermarket radio to the pink wire on the second plug. this will power on the factory amp with the aftermarket radio.

SOURCE: tried to put an aftermarket radio.

Hello, If you haven't cut any wires you really don't need to. They make a plug that you can get at wally world for about $15. It makes a clean installation and when you get ready to sell the envoy you will be able to replace the aftermarket back with the stock radio. It will make the wiring simple and easy also has an adapter for the antenna. Please rate my answer, Thank you.

SOURCE: YUKON CD PLAYER NO SOUND!

Is your IP Bus cable on the INPUT and not the OUTPUT ? I know it sounds funny, but usually(95%), that's the case. If it's in the wrong plug, you'll have power and a display, but no audio. That's why your getting data but no audio.

SOURCE: my radio in my Yukon turns on but no sound comes

It sounds like the amp is not functioning on the radio. If you install and after market cd player the radio still won't play because it's the same amp.

Now, if you would change the radio and it still won't play, it sound like it would be the wiring to the speakers. Speakers usually don't burn out, but anything is possible.

I hope this helped.

Stock CD Player won't turn on.

Hi Jesse,

Since you have done this numerous times, so you know the installation process. It seems there's something wrong with the aftermarket CD player, try replacing it with another one.

Cd player chevy aftermarket

Find a test light and probe your wires you are trying to hook into. You should have one that stays hot, or has power all of the time, and one that only has power when the key is in the on or acc position. Hook the new radio memory power to the one that is hot all of the time and the main power to the one that only has power when the key is on.

what you need is to go on line " crutchfield " .com , they have wire diagrams for all vehicles, and aftermarket stereos , you need to know how to use your existing stereo wires to connect your aftermarket stereo wires to these wires ! crutchfield can show you how to decifer the color codes so you can connect these wires ! its very easy, just buy somthing from them , like the connectors you'll need to do this, get it. good luck

How to you enable aux input on a 2006 trailblazer cd player, i have an aftermarket adapter for a mp3 player? Peripheral PXDX PXHGM3 rca/3.5mm audio adapter.

That interface most likely is not going to work, because it is not compatible with all the gm radios, don't work good with XM and rear video system,
the problem is the wiring and the software on the interface,

the PIE GM12-AUX v2 works with all the radios in gm vehicles,
radio needs to have a BAND button and CD/AUX

I unhooked the factory radio in my 1992 Buick Lesaber and am trying to hook in an after market cd player. i can get power to the cd player but no sound out of the speakers...please help me!!

the easiest way to install a aftermarket radio is with a adapter kit sold at most auto stores...such kits make all the wiring conversions for you....and save the hassle of tracing down every wire

How do i remove the factory radio?

Take your car to an accessory shop and they would neatly remove the radio without damaging the orignal cables. You would also get the new pins installed to the original car wires which can fit your after market system

After Market radio install on a 2001 Passat

Metra makes a preamp harness that you can use if you have the partial Bose system. My A4 had that (where the front speakers were run off of the headunit with speaker-level feed, but the deck put a line level signal to a rear amp to power the speakers). This harness would let you use the aftermarket deck with your factory speakers, if you have the partial Bose system. Best bet is to do a Google search for "Metra 2001 Passat" or something like that and I'm sure it'll show up.
