Hi,
Everything was ok until 1 month ago, when the green cruise light came on, but would not set the speed. Also the ESP traction control light comes on and says 'off''; this started at the exact same time as the cruise control quit working. At that time I was driving 75mph on the interstate when I first noticed light (ESP light) without touching the ESP button and then the cruise wouldn't set...
fuses in box seem ok, any ideas???
thanks lots
Erin
Check the brake lighf bulbs. If even one is burnt out, it throws the sensors.
Had the same problem replaced both bulbs and now the esp light stays off and the cruise control sets.
I had the same problem. It was a bad brake switch at the brake pedal. They replaced mine and I have no more problems with it.
I also had another issue with the cruise control when I first got the car. It turned out that a tail light was burned out and that was keeping it from setting.
Good luck!
Thanks for the help. I was having same problem and turned out both my brake lights were out (thankfully still had strip light at the top). Replaced lights and can now set cruise. Will have to wait and see about ESC OFF light because it doesn't always come on. The connection between cruise and brake lights doesn't make sense to me but glad it happened because who knows how long til I realized I had no brake lights! So glad I read this question and saved a trip to nearest KIA which is 90 miles away.

Sounds to be maybe a vacuum line leaking or broken,or maybe the switch on your steering column is faulty
Answer for the guy that stalls on turns. Your problem is on O-ring and should be covered thru a recall.

We have the same problem with cruise control and the esp light. Also, our car dies sometimes when going around corners.
