Code 193 is for a problem with the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail. The signal from the sensor is too high. The sensor and wiring would need to be tested.

Code 193 means the fuel rail pressure sensor is telling the computer the fuel pressure is very high. The problem could be the sensor or the fuel pressure regulator.
try changing your fuel filter it may solve your problem. after changeing fuel filter disconnect battery for 30 minutes if your light stays off problem solved.if this was helpful please leave me good feedback
Hi there:DTC P0193 is an easily fixed code. It is caused by a bad fuel rail pressure sensor. This is located on the top of the engine between the valve cover and intake manifold and is very easy to replace. I believe the sensors cost around $100 and will take about 5 minutes to replace. The second problem P0401 is caused by a bad egr valve. This is also very easy to replace but I believe these cost around $200 to $250. You can replace both of these parts by yourself and save some money on the labor. Just buy the parts (both of these are dealer only parts) and look for the same part on the motor. They will be right in front of you and then you will realize just how easy they are to replace. Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
The code is for the fuel rail sensor. Check the hose if deteriorating
that probably means at least fuel vapor was leaking. Replace the
sensor and that should cure your problem.
I noticed you said "van", the title of the question says "Problem with 2005 Ford Escape". I just wanted to make sure we're talking about the same vehicle. That code (for an Escape), would be a Fuel Rail Pressure and/or Temperature Sensor. As long as you have a check engine light on, you will not pass emissions. As soon as they see the light on, they will fail you immediately because they plug there monitoring machine directly into the OBD-II port. (On Board Diagnostics Series 2) under the drivers side dash. If the check engine light is not on at the time of the test, you might pass emissions as long as the engine is running ok. I hope this info helps!subyguru
Take your negative cable off your battery and leave it off for about ten minutes this will reset your computer and if your check engine light comes back on then you may have a problem
If the pressure isn't actually high, I would say go for the sensor. Either the pressure is high, or the sensor is bad. If the pressure is high look at the pressure regulator.
Check engine light
