Thermostat replacement need to instructions on how to replace the thermostat on my 2002 Nissan Xterra

check the fuel pressure and flow , if the pressure is low replace the pump, if the flow is low replace the fuel filter,the injectors may need some attention at that mileage.

You need to bleed air out of cooling system

unless your xterra is supercharged, you really do not need to replace it. its a lot of work, because its located way down under the upper plenum and lower intake. its way down there. if it is supercharged, you do need to replace it, because it puts the supercharger into fail safe mode and truck till not run to its full potencial.

Gotta be honest, have been a mechanic for 25+ years and have never changed a thermostat in the 3.3 liter. Why you would need to remove upper and lower hoses as well as all the drive belts I have no idea but am guessing they are in the way. Anyhow, below is all the information I found in the service manual for you. I hope this helps and good luck.

Unplug the electrical plug/connector from the base of sensor. You will have to take out bolt from the head of the sensor that threads into the cylinder head. Thats really it. Unplug - Unscrew - replace!

Try changing the thermostat and antifreeze. Also see if the fan is running, make sure all fluid levels are at the correct levels. Replace radiator cap if the rubber on the bottom side is cracked or is indented, make sure the recover tank tube is full and make sure the tube is not leaking. blow on the recovery tank hole if you can when engine is cold and the radiator cap is off see if fluid comes out, if it does the rubber tube is ok, also check that the fan spins and that there is no bugs in the A/C condenser. and if you need more help just ask.

Open the back lift door. Inside next to the lights there are screws that need to be removed before you can get the whole parking light off. After you get the screws out, you will have to force the whole plastic light cover to get to the burn out light. Once you get the whole light out, replace the bulb and follow the process in reverse.
