Where is fuel pressure regulator located on 2000 GMC 3500 HD truc

check for any problem codes. it needs more fuel to start in cold weather! if need be check fuel pressure and be sure fuel filter is not plugging up. and battery is good for cold cranking amps. have a good day!! if fuel is getting to engine, then check the fuel pressure regulator.

Did you have the fuel pressure checked,pressure regulator and fuel volume.

02 sierra 1500 5.3 starts very quick when cold but when hot cranks a lot before starting,I replaced fuel pump and filter did not help.It has 55 psi fuel pressure but falls below 40 kinda fast.???

check to make sure the fuel pump,injectors and fuel pressure regulator don't have any internal leaks check the fuel pressure immediatlly after it is shut off and two hours later there should be at most a very slight difference

Could be Fuel pressure regulator.

Not to sound like a ******* but did you change the fuel filter?Also when you turn the key to the on "not crank" possion you should hear the pump primming the fuel system.If you do not hear the pump go under and feel the pump.You can also remove the cap and listen.

the fuel pressure if leaking could cause this the regulator is located under the intake plenum but you should smell gas .if you dont then most likely the pump is bad ,the pump will come on for 2 seconds when the key is on then go off it will not stay on with just the key on only when you crank it will it .so have your fuel pressure checked with a gauge.

Check fuel pressure, and regulator. A leaking regulator gives a warm engine more fuel [ it does not like it] a cold motor does. same as a flooded motor. Good luck

The oil presure switch does have some bearing on the problem but my suggestion is to change the coil. I had a the same problem with an astro van. I changed everything that you have described and it fixed the problem just for a little while and then all of a sudden did it again. I changed the coild and the cold start swithch and never had the problem again.
