The traction sym. works with the ABS sym. sounds like you have a wheel speed sensor or a wheel bearing going out

SOURCE: The following lights keep coming

These are WARNING lights! They are trying to warn you that there is a malfunction in your brake and traction control systems. The most common problem would be that one of your wheel speed sensors are not working properly. The only way to find out for sure is to access the computer system data and find out why it has been turning the lights on. (There will be fault codes stored in memory)

SOURCE: traction system light and abs light come on at same time

You still have issues with the speed sensors. The wires that connect to the hubs are known for failure.

SOURCE: service traction system

Are the tires the same size all the way around?? The other thing that this could be is a bad wheel sensor, Go to Auto Zone and have them scan the car'e ECM for DTC codes. That would make things easier to see if it's the wheel sensors or the traction control module. Check all the fuses too, if the car had ABS problems and was disabled the traction control light will come on too. God luck and keep me posted, be glad to help

I have a 2013 ford f150 and it is alarming and dashboard reads service advance trac setting and then the truck turns off and wont restart until it sits for several minutes then it will go for maybe 20 feet...

The AdvanceTrac system counteracts oversteering and understeering by reducing power and/or applying brakes to specific wheels. This is done by the use of electronic sensors that communicate with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) regarding steering performance and stability in adverse weather conditions. The are several components that are necessary for the AdvanceTrac system to work properly.
Anti-Lock Brake System-When/if the brakes lock up, this may cause a loss of control and the vehicle may slide. The anti-lock brake system prevents this from happening by preventing the brakes from locking up, as well as preventing oversteering and/or understeering when the vehicle starts to slide.
Traction Control System-The traction control system works by reducing engine speed and determining which wheel to apply brake pressure to in order to prevent the vehicle from sliding.
Electronic Sensors-The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives information from electronic sensors regarding the rotational speed of each wheel, the horizontal motion of the vehicle, and the vertical motion of the vehicle.
If the "service AdvanceTrac" warning indicator light comes on in the dashboard, this could be an indication of several issues.
  • A faulty wheel-speed sensor
  • A faulty steering-angle sensor
  • A faulty rotational-speed sensor
  • An issue with the steering rack
  • Something that is lodged in one of the wheels
  • The AdvanceTrac system needs to be reprogrammed

Where is the traction sensor on a chevy cobalt

Get the trouble codes read again. The traction control system gets its information from the all four wheel speed sensors, the steering angle sensor and the yaw sensor, so it's a fairly complicated system. You don't want to be guessing why the system is kicking in. Cutting power is what it's supposed to do when it thinks you've lost stability, so there's obvious something wrong with the sensors or wiring harness.

Hi,the traction control light coming up means there is a fault detected in the system and a scan tool will be required to learn what fault has been detected. Possible steering angle sensor, wheel speed sensor or brake pressure sensor since the light comes up when making turns or when backing up. Faults are to be checked and proper diagnostic procedures carried out before parts replacement remedies.....

Service traction system, abs & tra off lights come on when you start car the service message goes off after a while. however the other two stat on. what is the problem?

There are wheel speed senors that tell the computer about wheel slippage. One or both are malfunctioning or the wiring is chaffed.

Why does my traction active & service traction system lights keep coming on?

most likely a bad wheel speed sensor

have a technician drive it with a scan tool and monitor all VSS

I suspect one if off
You can also confirm this buy trying to lock up the brakes in a safe location

if ABS activates early/late or not at all this too is a sign of a VSS concern

When I turn the steering wheel the low trac light

The steering wheel position, wheel speed sensors, and ABS systems are all used to provide traction control. You likely have a failure of one or more systems. Scan the ABS system and it will provide codes to help the diagnosis. Wheel speed sensors fail often, and it is likely one or more of these is contributing to the problem.

How do I turn traction control on? Light on dash says "traction off" all the time.

The Enhanced Traction System warning light may come on for the following reasons:
If you turn the system off by shifting to SECOND (2) or FIRST (1), the warning light will come on and stay on. To turn the system back on,shift to THIRD (3) or AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE

If the traction control system is affected by an engine-related problem, the system will turn off and the warning light will come on.

If the Enhanced Traction System warning lightmcomes on and stays on for an extended period of time when the system is turned on, your vehicle needs service. Adjust your driving accordingly..
