Are the windows up tight and sealed?

Is there any chance then that it could be your brakes? The front brake pads do have metal tabs on them that when they get worn down so far you will hear kind of a squealing noise. Which would be about the time to replace them.

Did getting the carrier bearing fixed stop the whistle? I have a 2006 Equinox & the mechanic can't seem to pinpoint the whistle. It sounds like it's coming from the front end to me. After I hit 25mph is starts whistling. Sound seems to change with speed, but the mechanic says my hub bearings are fine. Also, some days it will whistle & other days it won't.

Carrier bearing. i had the same problem. but it sounded like it was coming from the back. sometimes it sounded like the front, but yeah, it was the carrier bearing. costs about $500 to get it fixed at the dealer.

My 2005 chevy equinox makes a clunking noise when I turn the steering wheel I don't know what that means.

If it only clunks on a left or right turn. Then check the upper strut mount, these are known to make noise. Or it may need an upper strut plate. God-Bless!

How do i check allowable movement in rear drive shaft differential on a 2005 chevy equinox

There is no "cheking"to be done other than what you have done already. The movement,ANY movement, only means the universal joint is shot and needs replaced.I'm sure you've noticed a steady vibration. It's coming from bad U-joint.Replace it.

My Chevy Equinox 2005 is making a noise when I turn left or right. the noise comes from the front wheels. I was trying to find where to put power steering fluid, which I could not find. What should I do?

depends on the noise , I know that sounds silly, but it works,, is the noise your hearing a clicking sound as you turn? if so, its the CV axles going out ,, From your info I don't know if you have the all wheel drive or just the front wheel drive, but if you hear clicking, its CV joints going bad, Now if what your hearing is a squealing noise, that would be the power steering pump, look at where your fan belt is and what all it drives,, one of those will be your power steering pump, some models have the fill tube for them right on the unit itself, and others have a off pump location for filling, however your year happens to be the a first generation and they used electronic power steering, and naturally you need to have it dealer checked

2006 chevy equinox makes a roaring noise when acelerating. what could it be?

Its a wheel bearing making that roaring sound now you just have to pin point which wheel its coming from.Have somebody ride in the back seat and set on one side then the other you'll here which side is the loudest then replace that side. These cars are famous for more than one wheel bearing going out so don't be suprise if have to replace more than one.

My 2005 Equinox, 53,000 miles, makes a groaning noise shortly after putting it into gear. It happens as the car begins to move and goes about 10 feet. Sometimes it happens when I put it in Drive and ...

My 2 have always made that noise, I'm guessing it has something to do with the ABS charging in preparation for potential use. after a combined total of 240k miles, there has been no noted detrimental effect to this "charging" sound.
Great car.

Why my 2005 chevy equinox abs makes noise when stopping speed is down to 10 mph

Here is the problem: It is the speed sensor for your wheel. Apparently mine was all jacked up and possibly could have happened during driving. The wires on mine apparently are all screwed up from whatever trauma it suffered. I'm on my way to go it now...........$240 OUCH!
