Did a tune up on my 95 gmc jimmy 4.3 automatic, since then its hard starting and runs very bad, idles fine, tries to stall when you give it gas. it will through a code po340 cam sensor , replaceit after checking circuit, also replaced brain, map sensor, ignition modual. im an ase tech thats done many tune ups and i'm at a lose please help,...i also did a trans service, filter and fluid. could i have damaged a wire inside?. rechecked every thing in the engine compartment and nothing, fuel press good. again please help. gary

Hi, Try to replace fuel filter. It maybe clogged up and making engine run rough or poor. Also check and replace spark plugs. A bad spark plug will make it run rough too. Good luck.
you probably have a miss fire, when it flash it tell you that you do have a problem and you need to get imediate attention.

The wire harness to the fuel pump sending unit may be going bad which is common to happen. The harness is around $15.00 and it runs from the frame to the top of the gas tank. The other thing to is the fuel pump sending unit may be going bad and the float in side that measures the amount of gas, has gone bad and the unit may need to be replaced. As for the rough idle, it cold be related to the fuel pump starting to go bad and the fuel pressure is just marginal to keeping the engine running. The fuel pressure during cold start should be 62-65 PSI and should drop about 5 PSI when the engine is running. The other thing to that would casue a rough idle, would be time for a tune up, "spark plugs, wires and distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter"
have vehicle scanned for code[check engine] problem may not be tune up sum auto stores such as auto zone/ advanced auto do it for free the code gives u a place to start
Try a full tune up.. get Bosch platnium+4 spark plugs and Acel wires, do the fuel filter and air filter(i suggest K&N) buy some fuel injector cleaner or use Marvel Mystery oil. The ECU could e gone but hard to diagnose if the car needs a tune up.
w/o much more info it sounds like it needs a good tune up plugs wires fuel filter pcv vave throttle bore clean and injecter clean,try to do most of this your self it is costly
