I would suspect the dealer would beat up the pocketbook a bit more. Without knowing the key code you only have the dealer and a solid locksmith as options.

You can't program a Mercedes CLS 500 Key Fob without special programming equipment. There are some automotive locksmiths that have this equipment, but not many. I would still try to find a locksmith as they are usually more affordable than the dealer.
it would be cheaper to have a locksmith make a key to fit your old ignition lock. I dont know why you didnt do that, before ordering a lock cylinder. Nothing on a MB is cheap. the key is the cheapest thing there is.
u will have to remove the ignition from the steering coulmn, and bring it to a locksmith,he can make a key for it,of they will come to your house and do it,but it will be more expensive, other option it to buy a new ignition at local parts store and install, hope this helps you ,aloha from maui todd0708
Why are you taking out the old one. Check with any good locksmith. If your door key fits the ignition, you can easily remove a door lock cylinder and the locksmith can make you a new key!!! I'm pretty sure to remove your lock you need to turn it with the key in it (but you don't have one)
