the 92 didnt have a fob option would be an aftermarket or a unit that gm put out years later - vke-1000 https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c4-general-discussion/145185-92-keyless-entry.html https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c4-general-discussion/2845478-passive-lock-system-dealer-reset.html

Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation - Passive
Passive keyless entry allows entry to a locked vehicle without pressing any buttons on the keyless entry transmitter. You must only have the transmitter with you. This passive system is also part of the vehicle starting system. It allows you to start and run the vehicle having only the transmitter as your key. The passive entry and starting system use low frequency antennas in 4 different areas on the vehicle to determine the location of the transmitter. When passively opening a locked door or the rear compartment lid, you must have a programmed transmitter with you in your pocket, purse, or briefcase. As a customer opens the door handle or presses rear compartment touch pad, the low frequency antenna sends out a challenge to the keyless entry transmitter. The transmitter must be in a one meter range of the door or rear compartment lid in order to receive the challenge. If the challenge is met, the transmitter will respond, allowing the door to be unlocked and opened. Passive entry allows you to operate the following features:
• Passive door unlock/unlatch
• Passive rear compartment lid release
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Vehicle starting
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• LH and RH door antennas (part of the door handle assembly)
• Rear compartment antenna
• Console passive antenna
• Console active antenna
• Instrument Panel Module (IPM)
• Rear Integration Module (RIM)
• Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR)
• External RF Antenna (includes coax from RCDLR to back glass)
Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR)
The RCDLR is a multi-function module which controls all the vehicles antennas for passive keyless entry functions. The RCDLR also acts as the receiver for active keyless entry and tire pressure monitoring (TPM) functions, as well as controlling all immobilizer functions.
The RCDLR's RF antenna is located in the back glass, and there is a coax cable connecting the glass antenna to the module located in the trunk.
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that has the factory Tech 2 scan tool or someother professional type scanner that can read • Rear Integration Module (RIM) DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .
Your vehicle has two theft systems - content theft , if the door is opened without the key or keyless entry key fob the horn honks lights flash . PATS - passive anti-theft system ,this keeps the vehicle from starting if the computers don't see the right code from the transponder pellet in the head of the key .
You can turn off the content theft but not the PATS , when trying to start the vehicle does the theft light flash fast ? Red light on top of the dash .
is anti theft light flashing?? if so crank engine for one second. leave key in on position until theft light quits flashing. cycle switch to off. try to start engine. if no start, possible fault with keyless entry sensor at key tumbler..
i am asuming that you program the keyfob what is process you perform , have any check to make sure the power locks work when press lock and unlock button on door ,please note thet the key less entry and passive antitheft light in totally different as that light has nothing to do with key less entry
This is an indication the passive reciever has been set to off. Press and hold the door button on the hand held passive remote for 2 seconds the door locks should cycle locked then unlocked. The passive indicator should go out and the system should see the remote when you walk away from the car (dors lock, horn blows). If nothing happens test the hatch button (if you ha a coupe) to see that the remote battery is good.
1. Move all Keyless Remotes out of range of vehicle. (10 to 15 feet) 2. Turn ignition key to the ON position. 3. Push the TRIP/ODO button on the DIC (Driver Info Center) twice. 4. Within 5 seconds, push & hold the FUEL INFO button on the DIC until the PKE light comes on and stays on. 5. Turn the ignition to the OFF position, but leave the key in the ignition. The PKE light will begin flashing. 6. Bring one Keyless Remote into range. The PKE light will stop flashing and stay on to show the code is stored. Move the Keyless Remote out of range. The PKE light will begin flashing indicating the system is ready for the next Keyless Remote. 7. If more than one Keyless Remote is being programmed, move the first Keyless Remote out of range and repeat step 6 for any additional Keyless Remotes. Up to three Keyless Remotes can be programmed. 8. To turn off the programming mode, simply remove the key from the ignition or turn the ignition switch on. 9. The programming mode will shut off after two minutes if. A) You have not programmed any Keyless Remotes. B) Removed the key from the ignition. C) After three Keyless Remotes have been programmed.
