No, it can not be disabled.
The theft system is indicating a short term theft issue.
Have you added any "after market" remote start systems or alarms?
If NO.
Insert the key in the ignition, turn the key to run position ( do not start ) and leave it in that position for 10 minutes. Cycle the key to LOCK position, count to 10, then turn the key back to run position and leave on for 10 more minutes. After the 10 minutes is up, repeat the procedure (1) more time and the security system will relearn the PASS code.
Give it a try and let me know.
Regards,
I know you think you are being helpful, but seriously most people who have found their way here already know that info.
What they want is a way to disable this POS system Chevrolet forced on us poor idiots who bought this vehicle with the faulty passlock system, (yes it is faulty do a websearch for it and you will see 1000's of post about the problem) Chevrolet should manup and fix this problem.
Worked perfect on 2006 equinox thank you very much

My 2006 Chevy Express Van 4.3L will not start, it cranks but gets no fuel. Have spark, no blown fuses, crank position sensor is correct. Passlock has malfunctioned, how can I fix the passlock without replacing it, can it be bypassed? Also, there are no "security" lights lighting up, never have been.

I too and having problems with my 06 colorado and the security light is flashing when the truck wont start. im thinking its the pass lock. this is the 2nd time it has happened. i need to find out how to get it fixed for good. i don't wont to pay to have something fixed only to have shell out more money later on. i have had very little prolbems with this truck i bought it new and now have over 100,000 miles on it.
I tryed all these things and they all failed, when I got tired of searching for a fix for this problem.I gave up and took it to my chevy dealer where they fixed the problem for 614.00 dollars, and told me if they ever had a recall on it they would give me my money back
