Need help with putting back on the belts. It was easy to take off but hard to put back on. Are there any pictures that may help me? Also when the belt popped it caused the battery light to illuminate, the car overheated and it was also hard to steer like the power steering was gone. Does a popped belt trigger these actions also? Please help!!!
Try YouTube they will do a demo for ya.
Yes it does because the belt is what allows all the individual pullies to rotate so without a belt the Alternater doesn't spin so the battery doesn't charge and the power steering pump doesn't rotate as for the belt diagram it should have a sticker showing the diagram on the radiator support or on the underside of the hood

it ois always better to replace your current part with either a used, a new OEM part, or a new aftermarket compatible part it will save you alot of frustration and money in the long run. please rate this solution

once you get the airbag removed, the wheel is secured to the shaft with a nut. can't remember what size it is, but i remember i didn't have to go out and buy a special socket for it.

when looking at the engine with the hood up, look to the right hand side for something that looks like this (#1 in the pic): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=ET37&mospid=47720&btnr=32_0957&hg=32&fg=20
it will be black in color, but don't confuse it with the oil filter housing. power steering reservoir will have a unique cap (#2 in the pic) that can be removed with your hand. the one that has the large nut on top is the oil filter. remove the cap and put in the correct fluid.
hope this helped.
