Turn on the ignition and check headlights come on this will show if power is being sent to the circuits, if totally dead check master fuses (normally near the battery). Check cable connections at battery and the live(red) connection to the starter motor. There should be an earth lead (usually copper braided) between the bodywork and the engine. All connections must be tight and clean.
type and year of is helpful so we`ll go generic----start by checking the connections at battery for corrosion or damage if good than check power to starter if none check wiring and connections also check power from ignition switch as well as fuses.also try turning key to accessory step on brake and move shifter to neutral than try starting if starts shifter may be out of adjustment or damaged this would be your basic troubleshooting for dead type battery when battery is fully charged but always recheck your battery that it is fully charged
Tilt the steering wheel down all the way and see if it starts, if it does then there is a main power wire loose in the steering columb. Thats all which comes to my mind at this time.
Is the battery fully charged and are the connections clean and tight. Your ignition fuse seems to be blown. Check the big fuses under the hood. Will the headlights come on? will the horn blow? Good Luck!!!
sounds like a bad starter, test for power with a testlight, have someone crank the engine while you check for power at starter , the small wire should have power when key is in start position. if theres power then replace starter, hope this helps good luck.
After checking the battery connections, turn on the headlights and blow the horn. If the horn sounds sick, charge the battery. If ok, then remove the starter and clean the bellhousing where it mounts as this is where it is grounded. Frankster016
