SOURCE: 93 chevy pickup won't start unless in neutral

Put the trans in nuetral and see if it starts normal with key. If not, then the ignition swith is suspect. The actual switch is mounted on top of the steering column on the lower end. It is actuated by a rod. the key has no electrical. or your trans linkage needs adjusting. Good luck, Ned-

Which two prongs to connect to bypass neutral safety switch on 96 Chevy

The neutral safety switch is an important component that prevents the engine from starting unless the transmission is in the neutral or park position. If you no longer have the switch, you can bypass it by jumping the starter relay. This can be done by connecting the two wires that would normally go to the switch directly to each other.
Here's how to do it:
  1. Locate the starter relay in the underhood fuse box or the power distribution center.
  2. Find the two wires that would normally go to the neutral safety switch. These wires are usually color-coded and easily recognizable.
  3. Using a jumper wire, connect the two wires directly to each other.
  4. Turn the key to the "on" position and see if the engine cranks.
Note: Bypassing the neutral safety switch can be dangerous as it eliminates an important safety feature. It's also ******* in some states and can void the warranty on your vehicle. Consider using the bypass as a temporary solution until you can obtain and install a new neutral safety switch.

No power to my starteron 1998 s10

If the battery cable is dead at the starter, check the connections. It could be corroded inside the plastic cover.
If the small wire at the starter is dead with the key in the start position, check the neutral safety switch or clutch switch.

Depending on which transmission you have the neutral safety switch is on the right side of the unit or the left rear corner just above the pan. Also check the relay located in the power distribution center.

Changing wiper motor in chev s10

It's not bad. They make a special tool to remove the motor from the arm assembly, but with a little determination I was able to remove it with out the tool. If your wipers aren't working try running power to the motor first to test it. I swapped it out and the problem ended up being a bad ground in the switch. I bypassed that for a little while by running a jumper wire from the engine block to motor. It also could be the pulse module they are known for going bad in GM vehicles.
