How to access the hazard switch relay for 2006 chevy equinox. Both turn signals and hazard light do not work

Checked the fuse and nothing works still. thinking it might be the flasher switch (researched this) and it is in behind the hazard button.

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

SOURCE: I have A 2000 Chevy 3500 Express Van and the brake

Hi,

When you said that you checked the brake switch, did you check it live? Meaning verified live power to the switch, press switch, and then power came out the other terminal?

If so, also verify zero power on brake press, at the offending brake light bulb terminal. You must verify the test light each time you move it...leave running lights on...

After verifying that there is no power coming, after the brake is pressed, note the wire color and find it where it comes to the steering column and test there... This would eliminate wires and connections between front and the rear of the vehicle, unlikely, but needs to be tested.

After verifying no power at that terminal, then yes the t/s switch is certainly suspece. This may be the time to get a mechanic to verify and replace the switch, there are locks, tilt mechanisms, air bags, column bearings, etc involved. Failures risk loss of vehicle control (locking or binding for example.)..

Hope this gets you going in the right direction.

SOURCE: 99 Chevy Tahoe... Rear turn signals, brake lights, and hazards

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

97grand marquis. Hazard lights dont work but turn does. Is there a separate hazard flasher? If there is where is it? Thanks in advance.

The problem is not the flasher, in my opinion. Both the turn and hazard use the same flasher, the diagram doesn't call it a flasher, it is the lighting control module.
Check the flasher fuse. Fuse 1--15amp, interior fuse box. Also, test for voltage on the fuse, use a test light, fuse is hot all the time.
If all that checks out, I think the problem is the multifunction switch.
It might be possible to use jumper wire and bypass the multifunction switch on the proper color wires to see if hazards work. If they work with jumper but not w/o, what else could it be but a problem with that switch?

Why does nothing at all happen when hazard switch is pushed in to on position?

If your Hazard lights flash when you turn them on then it could possibly be the bulb behind the Hazard Button. There is a tiny bulb behind the switch to indicate when it is turned on. This bulb has possibly burned out and is in need of replacement. If your Hazard lights don't flash when pushing the switch it could possibly be that somewhere along your four flasher lamps there is a bad bulb or maybe more. Since you've checked the fuses and came to the conclusion that all were fine.

Signal lights only work intermittenly

The blinker relay is getting worn out. It's right behind the hazard lights switch. Pull off the black trim around the radio, hazard, ets, and the relay is write there. Next time the blinkers stop working hit the hazard button or hit the trim just above the hazard lights button. Mines been doing it off and on and I just hit the trim above the hazard button and they start blinking again. Never have time or remember to get a new relay.

Turn signal quit working but fuse is good

Hope you can read diagram? Did you check for voltage at turn fuse? Use a test light, goes hot with key on. Use a chassis ground when checking for voltage. The voltage wire from flasher to multifunction switch for turn is orange with black tracer, check that also. Let us know what you find?

on some of these models, the hazard switch operates through its own flasher fuse. if this is the case, locating and replacing the fuse ($4) should do it. Location should be in the owners manual.

97 Chevy truck blinkers not working but hazards do

Try replacing the Flasher first before spending to much money for a possible simple fix. If it's not your flasher then it could be the turn signal leaver.
Ok, this may seem stupid, but that's what they did to the blazer. They set the flasher near the middle and under the center console behind the radio.

It's to the left of the radio right behind the dash. The hazard flasher and the turn signal flasher are side by side.  It right next to the Cig lighter behind the panel. They do mark the turn signal from the hazard flasher on the plastic behind them. Turn is on the right.

Good luck and hope this helps.
