Can someone please give me a few ideas why suddenly there would be no spark at plugs, when jeep was running good.
There are several reasons this can happen, the most common is that the crankshaft sensor has failed. This should give a code of 11. I recommend that you do a code check, in order to get an idea of what problems may be before doing anything else.
Code check: turn ignition key of and on twice, then the third time leave it in run position. check engine light will falsh. one flash pause, next flash(s), longer pause, then next set of falshes. If just crank sensor you will get firss code of 11, then next set will be 55 (end code)

i did change the serpentine belt. i did dork out and took a little bit to figure out the adjustment for loosening. could fooling around in these areas have caused crank sensor to go out
The crank sensor is a mile away from the belts, can't see how they would have any effect.
There is a crankshaft sensor at the back of the engine on top of the bellhousing on the drivers side that always goes bad. It is a pain to change, but this has to be done before you go any further.
check ignition coil and or pick up coil in distributor, have you replaced anything lately?
