2001 Buick Regal cuts off while driving at times also won't start

When driving at times the engine cuts off. I have to wait 5-20 minutes before it will start. No hesitation it just cuts off. Also at times it will not start. You must wait 5-30 minutes. No error codes.

Engine Control Module? Cranksaft Angle (position) Sensor?

Your ideas.
Thanks.

The ignition switch on that model is rated @ 50amps. When I was driving my 2001 Regal LS (at 120,000 miles) and used the turn signal, the engine would die, when I switched the turn signal off, the engine ran. So I replaced the ignition switch, and all is well.

I put my thermostat on my car 2001 buick regal after a few hours it started running hot then i took it off and it was shaking a little but not running hot then after a week of driving it one day it cut off...

Is it possible you might have installed the thermostat upside down? How long was it hot? You might have burned your engine up. Check compression, each cylinder should be over 100 at least, and around 130 at best.

My 2001 Buick Regal will only start if press the gas pedal, when I release the gas pedal to step on the brake the engine shuts off. Any Ideas?

Could be a dirty throttle body or a faulty idle air control valve.
The computer controls idle speed by regulating the amount of air entering the intake thru the throttle body.

1999 Regal GS -stalls, starting trouble, won't shift now

the batt is suspect...take it to autozone, or other place, they'll check it out free......the shifting out of park is a seperate issue, the pawl for the steering/shifter is not working properly....did you notice if the steering wheel would turn when the shifter is stuck?....probably not....when this happens try to turn the wheel back and forth-not hard but not gently- a little graphite dust sprayed in there would help.......hope this helps you out
