Anti freeze is leaking under the passanger side tire and door. Do I need to take the whole dash apart or can I take some of it off to get to it. How can I also find a free owners manual for this van.
first, make sure the leak is from the heater core and not a heater hose. Not sure about how much of dash needs to come apart. There are no free manuals unless you get really lucky. but chiltons, haynes etc make fairly decent vehicle specific manuals for aroung $20. first, make sure the leak is from the heater core and not a heater hose. Many libraries have the Haynes or Chilton's series of auto repair manuals.
This leak sounds like it is the cut-off **** on the heater core. This is the valve controlled by the on/off switch on the dashboard.

IT IS YOUR HEATER CORE IF IT IS IN THE CAR. NOW IF IT IS FROM THE ENGINE CHECK YOUR HOSES NEAR FIREWALL. NOW IF IT IS NOT YOUR HOSES THEN IT COULD BE A FREEZE OUT PLUG
If the leak is anti freeze, it's coming from your heater core under dash pasenger side! It is extremely dificult to get to the heater core in a grand cherokee you have to take apart the entire dahboard. I'm told that if you get it apart you might as well install a new ac condenser as well because you won't ever want to take it apart again. How to directions easily found on internet for do it yourselfers or the labor fee will be outrageous if you pay someone to do it!
Leaking inside on the passenger side floor could be the heater core(you should smell anti freeze) or the a/c condenser drain hose where the water collected on the condenser goes is stopped up. It's supposed to drip under the car. You may can unstop the hose by blowing through it from under the car if you can find it. If that doesn't work you have to access it from inside the car under the dash. The same goes for the heater core.
Is the leaking liquid antifreeze or clear water? Anti freeze is slimy. Ck your AC drain . its under the blower housinfg under the hood on the fire wall. The drain is easier to seeb from below looking yp. Squeeze it open and make sure it's clear. Good luck -Ned_
Firsdt check the radiator cap thats it tight , then check for any anti freeze visible on the engine, then check under the car for any leaks. Is the smell of anti freeze inside the car ? , check the heater core you may have a leak there. the newer heater cores are aluminum and certain anti freezes, are extra acidic , which causes the anti freeze to eat at the heater core causing leaks, it maybe be a pin hole leak in the heater core ,causing the smell.
