I drove it to the gas station this morning with no issue and i got gas and went to leave i had nothing. I got my dash lights, head lights and my stereo all work fine and a small clicking noise from the fuse box. but i wont make any other noise. I replaced the starter and the battery that wasnt the problem i was told to try turning the key to the on postion for ten min to reset the security system and than try and it tried to start but as soon as let go of the key i was back to square one and it was doing noting again.....i even waited 10+ more minutes still nothing....any ideas.....
This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY? This is a common problem worth looking into. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/
It sounds like you some how blew the a main fuse engine cortrol.
You say you heard a pop in the fuse box .
Other things would still work not on engine control circuit.
It could be a fluck thing but ckeck the main engine control fuse its a 20 to 30 amp big power draw .
Be carefully after you put a new one in if the old one is burnt out you could damage the engine contrlol unit /computer no longer then 2 seconds key on see what happens .
You replaced the started so I think you will be safe with big shorts feeding back to the computer thats what the fuse is for .
But I have never heard of a problem like this before the way you discribed it .
Check what the battery reads while starter is running.Or you can turn on the headlights and try to start it to see if the headlights dim or go out.
If so then the battery is too weak or has bad connections at battery or at the engine ground or starter solenoid.
Can you jumper the starter solenoid terminals to make it crank ?
Is the security light staying on or blinking ? Did you try cranking it in neutral instead of park ?

I had the same issue this morning...ran yesterday just fine, but this a.m. when I went to start...nothing. No dash lights, no click, nothing except some odd ticking from the dash(?) ~ weird. Anyway, replaced the battery...starts like the champ!
Changing the battery is a bit of a challenge, but I found a GREAT step-by-step on http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2001/october/battery/bat1.asp
