Flasher relay won't stop

On my wife's '98 Jimmy the turn signals are working but the flasher continues to work after the signals are stopped. Is this the flasher or a wiring problem? Also, where are the flashers located and how do you get to them?

Have a 1999 k1500 Chevy have no turn signal but do have flashers. This early 99 model left over 98 lol have replaced flasher and directional switch all fuses test good can find turn relay under dash only...

If I am not mistaken, these have 2 separate flashers. One for the turn signals and one for the hazards. If memory serves correctly, the turn signal flasher is square and the emergency flasher is round.

Can a turn signel work for about 15 seconds and then stop? or could it be the relay?

the flasher unit is probably worn out.there is a bi-metalic metal strip that gets tired and won`t expand and contract making the clicking noise you hear when the signals are in use.it stops expanding and contracting causing the flashers to stop working.change the flasher unit but make sure you changing the one for the signal flasher and not the hazards flasher as they look the same.to know which one turn on the hazards and look for the other flasher that is not making a noise as this will be the one for the signals.

Turn signals stopped working. changed fuse "d" and still don't work. can't find any relays for the turn signals to replace.

Change the flasher for the turn signals located under the dash on the driver's side. Check bulbs for continuity or lightability.

98 lumina brake lights and rear turn signals stopped working.

A flasher would not cause this problem, It's in the trun signal switch, it needs to be replaced

the flasher is right below the radio, under the dash .it take 3or4 screws to take off panel.both flashers are under there.one for your 4 ways, and one for your turn signal.if your four ways work you can fill the flasher to determin which is witch. mine the four ways was on the left, turn signal on the right.they are not in the back of glove box.ther is apanel there with three relays but not for your turn signal.thank u gm jim.u helped me find them.

My turn signals stopped working.

the flasher relay is a aluminum cylinder relay on the fuse panel. It's the shiny one.
