I have 1996 buick skylark engine rotates but will not start sprayed starting fluid in throttle body and still will not start how do i check the firing coil pack ignition module
93 buick skylark is fully refurbashed. put in new fuel pump/changed oil and filter/ new spark plugs and wires. fuel pressure fine, oil was fine until i used a chemical solution "sea foam" in my oil and gas to stop from smoking. now it wont even crank up to stay on. i did use starting fluid , but it does'nt help any more keep car cranked and on. when i put the chemical in both tanks it immediately stop

There could the dirt in the engine carburetor please clean it or the the engine is getting rich ,or the on board computer may be faulty in the car or the wiring of the spark plug is defective get it checked ..............................
Into the throttle plate , Look at round black rubber tube from air filter box over to the engine ! Use a screw driver , loosen the clamp and pull the hose off the engine , where it fastens is call throttle body . Look inside you'll see a round disk or plate what ever you want to call it . Have someone step on the gas pedal and hold it down , you will see the plate open . This is where you spary the starter fluid ! After spraying some fluid in have the person holding the gas pedal down , release it . Then try to start the vehicle .
Try spraying some starting fluid or carburetor cleaner into the engine an see if it will keep running ! Have you tried holding the throttle open a little or are you just letting it idle ? Any lights lit on dash , check engine ?
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ? Someone will need to check for spark on all cylinders and fuel pressure. You might try spraying carb cleaner or starting fluid into the throttle body to boost fuel supply and see if it helps. If it does that would tell you its a fuel problem.
ok ! did you mean its got spark but does not start. if spark but does not start. check to see if its getting fuel to engine. remove air hose from throttle body and spray some starting fluid in throttle body, open throttle plate and spray some in. if car starts then stops, its a fuel problem. if no spark check the harmonic balancer on engine to see if its loose, the 3.8 engine have a crank position sensor that runs off the balancer. the rubber starts wearing out and the balancer start flopping around. and the timing gets massed up. good-day ! type in on pc browser ignition switch symtoms, and a list of things will come up. for a ignition switch controls over 50% of voltage for vehicle. good-day !
SHOOT STARTING FLUID IN TO THE THROTTLE BODY, NOT TOO MUCH,BECAUSE IT WILL BACK FIRE, UNTIL IT STAYS RUNNING, IF THIS DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, THEN FIND THE GAS TANK AND BANG IT WITH A RUBBER MALLET, NOT TO HARD, JUST ENOUGH TO SHAKE THE TANK.
If both the MAF and 02 have been replaced, try the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) also check for vacuum leaks. the hoses that come out of the throttle body are very vulnerable to melt from heat.
