One day out of the blue trans just went to neutral at 60 mph. put up in to neutral a couple of times back in drive and started working again. it did that a few more times before we got home. got home let it set for the night my wife drove it the next day now in town doing the same thing alot now . so we let it set about a week now. so i service trans today gos right in to gear like always but now it seems like it dont want to shift at all. it still pulls good but not shifting i am stumped ??? is it a similar problem like the ford crown vic with the linkage adjustment on that rod needs adjusted please help!!!!!!!!
Ask around for a reputable tranny shop in your area and let them service tranny with either a TransGo or B&M Shift kit. Get to know the owner and give him your business and tell him you'll let all your friends know how good a job they did. If it is a family owned and not a National chain shop they will treat you right if they know you'll send business their way. They will work to please and with the shift kit you will not have any more problems. I've done this in over 10 of my 4x4's in the past and am always very pleased and never have any problems. Just remember to let them service (change fluid in tranny & transfer case) at scheuled times and you can drive around the world almost 100% worry free. I've used both TransGo & B&M and both have been great for me. Spend $250-350 (parts & labor) now and never worry or spend $3,000.00+++ if you let it go.

I HAVE A 1997 1500 RAM AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT IN TO NUETRAL AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH. IT WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR UNTIL I TURN IT OFF AND WAIT ABOUT 5 MIN AND THEN RESTART IT. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEAS
also a 97' ram 1500 ext.cab 4x4. seems to slip out of a gear into neutral, and will also decide to down shift and shift up again. thats with o.d. off ,and when it's going into the last gear it seems to stay in that fade to that gear and then the rpms stay high.
