Back brakes on ford ranger

I need a diagram or picture of how my brakes are to look when completed, I need to put on rear adjusting kit and have no clue what it looks like completed, old one broke and rusted out. need to see it to do it. thanks for any help you can provide....JIM

What about using the drum on the other side as a guide? If it is in the same condition, then check out these general diagrams on this page. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts/brakes/brake-types/drum-brake.htm I have a photo on my cell phone of the drums on my mother-in-laws 1991Ranger I can send you when I find that stupid mini-usb cable (if you still need it).

sounds like you have it apart and not so sure about reassembly. If these are drum brakes try looking at the drum brake change videos on Youtube, ericthecarguy (ETCG) is a good one. Drum brakes are all basically similar with the main difference usually around self adjusters.

If they are disks it will be a sticky caliper piston. (You can buy 'repair' kits online)
If it's running on drums, it'll probably be the cylinder.
One, or the other.
But also make sure that there aren't any obstructions, on the handbrake cable.

YOU PROBLEM IS YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE PARKING BRAKE CABLES .THEY ARE RELEASED BUT NOT ALL THE WAY CAUSING THE SHOES TO SIT TO CLOSE TO THE DRUMS.WHEN ADJUSTING YOUR BRAKES HAVE THE REAR END OF THE TRUCK OFF THE GROUND TIRES ON AND SLOWLY ADJUST ADJUSTERS AT THE SAME TIME TURNING THE TIRE UNTIL YOU FEEL A SLIGHT DRAG REPEAT FOR OTHER WHEEL
