SOURCE: Radio code for Honda CRV 1999

If the radio has not been changed in the past, then I am almost certain that your local Honda dealaship can help but as always they may charge you. There are auto centres that are equipt to change the radio code and they do charge.

SOURCE: honda radio codes

Don't post your s/n & vin online!!

FREE and EASY methods to get your Honda radio UNLOCK CODE. (Dealerships usually charge)

Assuming you don't have the Anti-Theft Code and Serial Number that is found on the credit card sized Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card that comes with the vehicle at the time of purchase and is usually found in the glove compartment....

You have FREE options to retrieve that code by phone or on the internet BUT, the RADIO SERIAL NUMBER is REQUIRED (no matter what). (see bottom about removing ERROR E3)

***IF your Honda was made BEFORE 2001 the serial number MAY not be accessible without removing the radio from the vehicle.***

* TO GET THE SERIAL NUMBER (so that you can get the unlock code)

1. Get something to write with and on (you'll need it to write down the serial number)
2. Put the ingnition key in and turn it until your able to turn your radio on (accessories position).
3. Then turn your radio OFF by it's knob/button (but leave the ingition key in place).
4. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time.
5. Turn the radio on while pressing down both the 1 and 6 buttons.(***IF your Honda doesn't have preset buttons on the radio then hold down the top part of the 'Seek/Skip' button AND the top part of the 'Change Disk' button instead.*** )
6. Write down the 4 numbers you see first and then 4 more that display. These eight numbers are the SERIAL NUMBER. This is NOT your CODE.
7. Make sure your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is handy to get the unlock code. (can be found on your insurance card, driver's side door jam, small plate on dashboard by registration and inspection stickers, etc)

* TO GET THE UNLOCK CODE (using the radio Serial Number and VIN)

---Internet option:

1. Go to https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ (YES, it's run BY HONDA and IT'S FREE)
2. Follow on screen instructions (Serial Number and VIN required)
3. Type in the 5 digit code into your radio. This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state.

-OR-

---Telephone option:

1. Call American Honda Customer Relations (800) 999-1009
2. When the automated message starts 'Press 3' for 'Radio and Navigation Codes'.
3. Tell the Customer Service Agent you need your radio code. (They will ask for your name, your radio's serial number, VIN, etc)
4. When they give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN and KEEP IT SAFE!
5. Type in the 5 digit code into your radio. This will unlock the radio and return it to a functional state.

* REMOVING ERROR E3

****If you entered too many wrong codes and got an ERROR E3 message displaying you'll need to do an additional step for even the correct unlock code to work.****

Disconnect your negative battery terminal (or pull the radio fuse out if that's easier for you) for 30 seconds then reconnect it and then the radio will say "CODE" again and you can put in your correct unlock code.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what happened to begin with?
See also: http://automobiles.honda.com/information/frequently-asked-questions.aspx?Question=2

If the power from your battery to the Honda radio is interrupted the Anti-Theft feature kicks in, the radio is rendered inoperable and the screen reads 'CODE'. You must enter in the Anti-Theft Radio Unlock Code (usually 5 digits) to make it operational again. You know that much by now.

SOURCE: I replaced the battery in my 2004 Honda Element

RING the makers to the radio and give them all the information and they will give you the code BUT check to make sure its the correct one for the car and not a radio someone has fitted at sometime.

SOURCE: I change the battery on

The dealer is correct:

But here's a webiste that will help you out. http://www.radio-code.com/Honda-Pay-Page-radio-code-NEW-proced.htm they tell how to remove the radio and wher to find the codes.

Good Luck and tell the kids to hum quietly to themselves until the radio is fixed :)

ALSO, WRITE THE CODE DOWN so if you need to change the battery again, you'll have it. AND for future reference, they make a simple device that you plug into your cigarette lighter socket that has a 9 volt battery attached so when you change the battery, your radio / computer will retain the codes.

Fiat AutoRadio. Can anyone help me with the radio code?

There are only three ways to do this.

1. Take it to your local Fiat dealership with the registration document and they will give you the code for free based on the vehicle VIN Number.

2. Look for a small white sticker in the glove compartment or the centre console. When the car is new, this sticker is supplied with the manual with those instructions.

3. You pay an online Radio Code Decoding company. Many of them say 'Free', but most charge about $15 or £12 UKP. The major sites are trustworthy and will work with you, or refund if the code doesn't work. The sites need the Serial Number of the radio which is either engraved to the radio chassis, or on a sticker at the rear or sides hidden from view.

Cannot find jack location. cannot remove spare tire. need to rmove radio to repair.

What's going on ... are you looking for the jack (probably under or behind the seat or under the hood) ... or the spare tire (probably under the bed) ... or the radio? If radio has a security feature, be sure to remove the special security code before you remove the power. If your radio is so equipped (see your owners manual or inquire at the Dodge Dealer Service Shop if unsure) and you fail to do this, your radio will be useless if you remove the power before removing the code. I wouldn't think you need the jack or the spare tire to remove the radio! Is there an owners manual in the glove compartment?

If I missed the ball on this I will have to say it was due to a wild pitch. Please pitch the ball again.

Bought a preowned honda crv 2004 model that got involved in an accident. Delivered to me without battery. I cannot use the radio. What do I do to decode radio. Captain Victor. Ghana

Inside the glove compartment, on the back side of the glove compartment door you should find a small sticker with two sets of numbers. The number set with 5 digits is you radio rest code. Turn on the radio and when the message "CODE" comes up, use the station preset buttons to input the code. If the code was input correctly, the radio should come on immediately.

Radio reset code for 1998 a4 audi

I had the exact same problem on my 1998 Audi A4 Quattro Sedan I just purchased. I read a couple of other posts that said to try looking for the radio code in the spare tire compartment in the trunk. Sure enough on the right hand side of the compartment was a information label and on it someone had written the code 1174 in pen. I then left the key in the ignition and the radio on for an hour. Then I pushed the DX and FM1/2 button and the same time until the "1000" number appeared on the display. Then I pushed in the code 1174 using the 1 - 4 tuner buttons. For example the number 1 key I pushed until the number 1 appeared. Then pushed button number 2 until the number 1 appeared, pushed button 3 until the number 7 appeared and button 4 until number 4 appeared. After I had the code 1174 on the display, you again push the DX and FM1/2 button at the same time and the radio unlocked and worked perfectly. I hope that this helps. I have the Delta (Bose) AM/FM Cassette radio in my car. Good Luck!!
