It should come out fairly easily. before you order the part , you have to check under the hood on the decal to find out if the toyota was made for california emmisions or federal emmissions. it will make the difference of an 02 sensor or an air fuel ratio sensor. big difference in $$ as well.

code p 0171 refers to system too lean bank 1===causes ---intake /exhaust leak---AIR system---MAF/VAF sensor/s---fuel pressure/ pump---injector/s---heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) the one in the exhaust manifold for bank 1 nearest the firewall
bank 1 is the front bank closest to the grill
sensor 1 is the heated oxygen sensor and is located in the manifold or before the cat converter
sensor 2 is the oxygen sensor and is located after the cat converter
get a specialist oxygen sensor tool so that the small wires are not damaged during repalcement
Well code 300 is a random miss, 301 is for cylinder 1 and 306 is for cylinder 6. Code 171 is saying the fuel mixture on bank one is too lean. And that could cause the other codes.
Have you checked fuel pressure and the filter ?
The check engine light is on to tell you the computer has found a problem that will affect performance, gas mileage, or emissions. Such as the code 171 you asked about. Code 171 is for the fuel mixture on bank one being too lean. The O2 sensor is telling the computer the fuel mixture is too lean and the computer can not make it rich enough.
Chances
are the upstream sensor (similar to an O2 Sensor but not compatible) is
shot. However, before condemning the sensor, check the circuit (wiring,
connector, etc.) for power, ground, etc. If you can, check fuel trims
as well.
If it is the sensor, take your VIN# to the dealership
for an exact replacement. Be advised...they don't give 'em away.
p1130 refers to af ratio senor bankone sensor on. If you car has a six cylinder bank one is the side where #1 cylinder is located sensor one is the sensor closest to the engine. hope this helps
switch, we run off snitches. 171 174 banks 1 & 2 Lean. Most likely cause are Upper Intake Manifold Gaskets, failed seals. It's not 1990 on. It's 1996 and on OBD2.
first check out for o2 sensor if its faulty this can show up.but if its proper.Evaporative emission control system leak very small 171 System too lean (bank 1) 174 System too lean (bank 2)
