SOURCE: Power loss after running

loss of power can happen even if exhaust does not flow in other words you have a rstriction in the exhaust usualy the catalytic converter has collapsed any exhaust shop will be able to tell you right away, or when you loose power do you hear a hissing noise ? if so that is clearly a clogged converter replace the catalytic converter

SOURCE: 97 Jeep grand cherokee 6 cyl. idles down to 0 and dies.

any leaks in intake or exhaust upstream of the sensors, sparkplug condition and engine controls/sensors for out of range operation (including fuel pressure and condition of regulator)
IAC should be cleaned and checked as this can cause poor idle and shut down. I'm not saying not to change O2 sensors, but unless everything else if OK, it probably won't help.

SOURCE: 89 jeep cherokee 4.0 it bogs down and will accelerate in drive

Make sure that the timing is correct and that the spark from the coil is healthy. Problem can also be with the overdrive in the converter. If it's stuck on it can do that too.

SOURCE: I have a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter that won't idle

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

WHO KNOWS ABOUT THE 1999 CHEV. ENGINE 4 CYL.? IS IT A GOOD ENGINE? I AM THINKING ABOUT BUYING A 99 S-10 WITH THAT ENGINE IN IT.

I have owned a 1984 S10 blazer since new,
some 28 years & I would never buy that with
a 4 cylinder

I have a 2.8 v6, the only 6 cyl I have ever owned,
& it won't get out of it's own way. People have to wait
at every light,it take a 1/4 mile to get to 40 mph,can
you imagine almost 5000 lbs & a 4 cyl

How can i use the 4 x 4 in my 2000 grand cherokee laredo (6 cyl) i dont have the owners manual and i dont know how to use my 4x4 on snow or something like that

With the Jeep in park, move the left shifter to 4 wheel drive. Proceed to put right shifter into drive, proceed to drive. Only use 4wheel drive when neccessary...ie...snow, mud, use 4 wheel lo in steep incline or when really bogged down.

Hope this helps

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Problem

Idle prolem could be a dirty throttle body or sticky air idle control motor.
If the Jeep is a 6 cly. the adjustment for the belt is the power steering pump.
If the Jeep is an 8 cyl. the tensioner is on the pass. side of car.
