If you have an owners manual it explains it in there.. I have a 2002 Chevy express van and you have to turn the key to the on position ( do not start). fully depress the accelerater twice then start the engine. this turns the oil light off in my van. ( this was in my owners manual)
two options. one is to disconnect the red terminal from your battery, this will reset everything, even the radio and clock. if you have an advanced auto parts nearby , they can plug in the obd reader and erase the engine code without any hassle.
Most often you need a code reader with a reset function that can connect to the computer jack under the dash and reset factory functions like that. Pain in the tush if you are changing your own oil. Mechanics and dealers have the equipment to do that reset.
Turn the ignition set to ON, without starting the engine. Press the gas
pedal three times in quick succession and watch for battery light to
flash three times, when it does, it is reset.
it will be in your owners manual under oil life reset, but usually you turn the to the on position and push the gas pedal to the floor three times with in 10 seconds, then the oil light will blink which means it has rest its self
hello, on this vehicle the oil pump is mounted behind the front timing cover. you will have to remove the front diff, the oil pan, then the water pump and lastly the front engine timing cover. takes about 12 to 12 hours to replace
Hi, This is most likely because although you changed the oil you didn't reset it. Do this by turning the key all the way forward without starting the engine push the gas pedal to the floor 3 times in 5 seconds wait a second then turn key off then start the truck light should flash then go away. If you still need assistance let me know. Thanks, Lee
TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO RUN WITH THE ENGINE OFF.FULLY PRESS AND RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THREE TIMES WITH IN FIVE SECONDS.YOU HAVE TO DO THIS MORE THAN ONE TIME.ITS NOT GOING TO RESET FIRST TRY BUT DO THIS PROCEDURE.UNTIL THE CHANGE ENGINE OIL LIGHT WILL FLASH WHILE THE SYSTEM IS RESETTING.TURN THE KEY TO OFF.WAIT A FEW SECONDS.START CAR UP TO SEE IF CHANGE OIL LIGHT COME BACK ON.IF YES YOU HAVE TO TRY THE RESET PROCEDURE AGAIN.
