2003 aviator won't go into gear

When you say the vehicle "won't go into gear," do you mean you cannot move the lever out of PARK, or do you mean that when you move the lever out of PARK the transmission will not engage?
If the lever will not move out of PARK, check your BRAKE LIGHT fuse, your BRAKE LIGHT switch, and the SOLENOID at the shift mechanism.
If your lever moves out of PARK easily (too easily), it is possible that your shift linkage has broken or come loose.
If your lever moves out of PARK normally but the transmission does not engage, it's time to have the car towed to the transmission repair shop.

My gear shift is stuck in park. The car starts up fine, but shifter wont budge.

the fuse is bad for shift lock solenoid. Read owner manual section on brak-shift interlock. Check fuse for nbrake lights. Brake lights work.

Owner manual has emergency by pass procedure. I think you turn key to OFF and then shift to neutral and start car then. Next time in park, you have to repeat.

2004 Aviator is parked and it will not press down to get out of the park position. What is the problem

Brake light fuse is blown or the shift lock solenoid has gone bad. It is supposed to release the gear shift selector at the same time the brake is pressed.

My ABS light has been coming on in my 2004 Lincoln Aviator. This morning I was able to start my car, but I could not put it into gear. I could move the gear shift with little effort, but it didn't...

Hello, There is an Interlock switch at the top of the brake pedal lever. This switch is the one that requires your foot to be on the brake pedal before shifting. When your car loses the signal from this switch, the vehicle will not leave Park.

Look under the dash and locate this switch. If it appears broken you will need a new one. Otherwise just reposition it in the holder. You can tell if it is correct by observing your rear brake lights. When they light up, the switch is usually correctly positioned.

The other possibility is the shifter. It is controlled by an Interlock which has to be lined up to synchronize the Ignition switch. As you know, there are times when the steering wheel needs a little "wiggle" to get a smooth release of the Ignition switch. All of these parts need adjustment to sync them for smooth operation.

I hope my solution is helpful to you.

My 2003 aviator gear is locked in park and will not move

check to see if your brake lights work. No? check your brake light fuse. OK? change your brake light switch. Your brake light switch powers the brake / shifter interlock. There is usually a way to bypass the interlock- check your owners manual for bypass button location ( its usually next to the shifter)

I am parked on an incline and my gear shift will not come out of park.

you may need a second person to "rock" the vehicle if its just jammed, or the shift interlock may be keeping it from shifting out of park. do the brake lights work? there should be a procedure to bypass it in emergencies in the owners manual.

2003 Aviator: Button on the gear shift lever will

Yes, there is a switch on the brake pedal that could have been knocked loose or broken. There is a solenoid lock on the shifter lever in the transmission console. Here is a big post on it from a paid advice sight. https://www.justanswer.com/ford-lincoln/3ohnl-2003-lincoln-aviator-frequently-locks-park-gear.html

04 Aviator won't come out of Park on Incline

Try rocking the truck while attempting to shift out of park. In the future always set your parking brake before shifting to park and releasing the foot brake. This will keep the weight of the truck from binding the parking lock in the Trans.
