Install remote/key into socket. Push and hold trip button on instrument cluster with all doors shut. Push start button one time for key position one while holding trip button and count to five. keep holding trip button and hit start button to key position two where all the warning lites come on the instrument cluster while still holding trip button. Count to around ten and triangular warning lite should flash. Release button and remove key and then start engine. May take a few attempts to reset this lite.
With the key in the igntion, hold down the odometer reset button. While holding the button down, turn the key to position 1 for 2 sec and the to position 2 untill the service light flashes 3 times. It can be tricky. You may have to do it a few times.
TRY PUSHING IN THE TRIP METER BUTTON, AND WHILE CONTINUIING TO HOLD IT, CYCLE YOUR KEY TO POSITION 2. WHEN YOUR TRIANGLE LIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHES 3 TIMES, IMMEDIATELY LET GO OF THE TRIPOMETER BUTTON. THEN CYCLE YOUR KEY OFF AND BACK ON. THIS SHOULD TURN IT OFF. GOOD LUCK
TRY HOLDING IN YOUR TRIPOMETER RESET, PUTIING IN YOUR KEY AND TURN TO POSITION 2 (WHILE CONTINUING TO HOLD TRIP RESET) HOLD UNTIL TRIANGLE IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHES 3 TIMES, WHEN IT DOES...IMMEDIATELY LET GO OF YOUR RESET BUTTON. CAR SHOULD CHIME. TURN YOUR KEY OFF AND BACK ON. YOUR LIGHT SHOULD BE OFF. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.

If I understand correctly the reset light can only be reset by accessing the OBD connection. usually only by the dealer... I know, it's frustrating changing your own oil and still having to pay the dealer for an oil change just to reset the light.
I had a 90 model Volvo with a reset button on the dash. I bought a 1998 model and had to take it to the dealer to reset the light. this happened when the OBDII came out.
