2006 Malibu blinker.brake lights stopped workin,no blown bulbs nor fuses,I found a random wire in front passenger side fuse box with electrical tape on one end of it.as if it had been connected to something inside fuse box,to a wire under dash.Idk,but its been a pain tro figure out why I no longer have brake/blinker lights, yet do have running lights

Check the common earth connection is present at the lamp socket.
SOURCE: Brake Lights and Hazard still dont work
TEST FRONT RIGHT BLINKER CIRCUIT AND REPLACE THE BULB,,WITH PROPER BULB...A DOUBLE CIRCUIT BULB IN A SINGLE SOCKET WILL DO THAT ALSO A SINGLE SOCKET BULB IN A DOUBLE SOCKET HOLDER....CHECK LEFT SIDE BULB FOR ACURANCY

It will be in your engine compartment. It will be a black box, pull the lid on it. On the inside cover of the lid it will tell you what each fuse is for. Find the fuse that says something to do with rear brake lights. When you replace the fuse make sure it it the exact same size, like replace a 5amp fuse with another 5 amp fuse. Also when you look on the inside cover of the fuse box lid there should be a couple empty spaces with fuses in them, these are spare fuses for your car. You can use one of these but just make sure to replace it.
I almost forgot, here is a link to show you what a blown fuse looks like.

SOURCE: how to change fuses in 2006 chevy malibu
Use the supplied fues puller or a needle nose pliers and pull the old one out and press the new one in. Very simple

Have you checked the fuses in the under hood fuse box? Sounds like you have a blown Maxi-fuse or a bad ignition switch.
