My 1999 Lincoln town car has been sitting (without being started) for about a year. The battery is fine, and it turns over but just won't start! Before it was parked it ran fine!

You need to do several things

Is the battery in good shape & have over 12.5 volts
Do you have fuel pressure at the motor key on engine off
Do you have spark or injector pulse when cranking

ecu can be reset by disconnecting battery. this is likely not your problem..

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

without physically looking at this it is hard to say but best thing i can suggest is that the fuel relay is bad this is a fuse located usually under the hood and will be marked on diagram

It seems the timing is advancing well. have a tune up at service center. Starter must also be checked.

had the same problem with mine. Turned key, battery was good, but it didn't even try to start.

Check (most likely - replace) the crank sensor.

check the starter and solenoid.take the starter off check to see it rusted or stuck .bench test it with a battery and remote switch.if all good .replace the starter solenoid.

if it was me i would take the gas cap off for a moment to see if there is a vapor lock in the gas tank then i would put it back on and then try starting the car also make sure your battery is fully charge i do not drive my Lincoln T/C in the winter but i always take the battery out and bring it inside to keep it warm and i start it up from time to time
