Check to see if you can adjust the sensitivity of the alarm as it may be temperature that is sending it off. If it m is a genuine factory fitted unit then have a talk to the service centre for clues. Also have you considered the possibility that an animal ( cat) is jumping on the bonnet to get warm from the engine heat

SOURCE: car alarm sounds at random times some times after

If the alarm is for short period, it is just normal for
proximity sensor and vibration sensor types. If this alarm
for long period, then car alarm installation needs to be
checked by the technician installing the alarm. Send us your e-mail comment.

SOURCE: 1998 Lexus Gs300 alarm "anti theft system" arms

Hello! Lets eliminate a potential cause: There is a Technical Service Bulletin (EL-00198) that addresses key-ring interference with the Transponder Chip in the key...A touchy anti-theft system to say the least...The key-ring should not rest on or come in contact with the key grip area...Do not place any other keys on a ring with the ignition key...Actually, in order to function properly the ignition key needs to be *****...As in nothing on or near the key...I'm not saying this is your fault but it needs to be removed as a potential cause..See additional FYI information below on how to add or delete an ignition key from your vehicle's system...BELOW IS A LINK TO A SITE THAT HAS A BYPASS MODULE FOR YOUR Gs-300....Guru...Saailer

http://www.drdetailshop.com/555X.htm

FYI

The Toyota Electronic Control Module does not have programming modes without a pre-programmed key.
If there is no key available that is already programmed into the module, the module must be replaced.

To delete all but one key from the unit:

Type E 1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition. Do not turn the key from the OFF (LOCK) position.
3. Within 15 seconds of inserting the key, depress and release the accelerator pedal six times.
4. Within 10 seconds of completing the above step, depress and release the accelerator pedal seven times.
5. The security light will flash, indication all keys other than the one being used have been deleted.
6. Remove the key from the ignition cylinder within ten seconds. It will be the only key still programmed to work

Add Duplicate Key:

1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition. Do not turn the key from the OFF (LOCK) position.
3. Within 15 seconds of inserting the key, depress and release the accelerator pedal five times.
4. Within 20 seconds of completing the above step, depress and release the brake pedal six times and
remove the key.
5. Within 10 seconds, insert the new key into the ignition.
6. Within 10 seconds, depress and release the accelerator pedal one time.
7. After 80 seconds the new key is registered and the security light will go off.
8. Remove new key and depress and release the brake pedal 1 time.

2005, 2006, 2007 are the generation years that remain the same. You could also try cleaning with a light application of acrylic polish.

How do I fix code 13 engine speed sensor Above 1000 rpm

Clearing the codes is simple that is done by removing the fuse of the EFI from junction box 2 for 10 seconds. Make sure to remove the jumper wire and switch the key off before clearing the codes.

Here are some common Lexus vehicles 1990-1995 codes:

Code 24 Intake temperature sensor circuit fault
Code 25 and Code 26 Air fuel ratio fault (for ES300 & SC300 models)
Code 27 Sub-oxygen sensor circuit fault (for ES300 CA & GS300 models)
Code 31 Low airflow meter voltage (for ES300 and GS300 models)
Code 32 High airflow meter voltage (for ES300 model)

2006 GS300 Lexus has a check system light on? What does this mean?

Some luxury Models are equipped with standard emission lights. Try removing the battery cables for 20 mins of so with the vehicle off. Reconnect and start engine. Drive it for a little while. If the light is gonna come back on it will likely do it in under 10 miles. If it comes back on, have you car scanned for trouble codes.

I would like instrustions on how to disable the "seat belts not buckled alarm sound" to stop ringing or only ring for a short duration on my 2006 Lexus GS300

That requires disabling of a saftey device. NTHSA or others would not like instructions on that posted here.

Unlikely there is anyway to set a short duration timer.
