When coming to a stop,then pressing on accelerator`the van will stumble or just stall.checked fuel pressure and only read 3.2,then changed fuel filter & got pressure 22.0.i know it should read at least 28. wondering since fuel filter was pretty clogged,if the fuel pump is going bad?
Possible pump but could be a problem pressure regulator
good pressure is 45-65 psi

i dont know about the turbo going bad,but i do know that ive seen 7.3 diesel have bad injectors,usually 2 at a time, check for fuel at the injector which can get messy so wear protective gear such as goggles and gloves,while running crack open the fuel line at the injector to see if there is fuel,it should run rough which is good on the working cylinders,if it doesnt change then maybe a bad injector,or not enough fuel pressure at that injector.injection pump issues are another thing,but most likely its an injector.

there is a recall for the fuel pump, but only applies to certain focuses according to the build date. if your car doesn't fall within the build date, it is a customer pay item... the car may very well need a fuel pump, i would say that is probably the best possibility. the other thing about recalls is they do expire, or if the car has already had the recall done you are not able to have the recall performed again. if it has the ztec engine i have seen valve cover gaskets blow out and soak the spark plugs with oil, this also causes the problem your having.hope this helps you and good luck---also what parts does the dealer think it is?

I'd be looking at removing IAC valve, and cleaning it out with throttle body spray cleaner, and checking mounting gasket as well. Usually some success with cleaning it & spray ports it came out of, but if not you may need to replace it.
