I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 my seatbelt light is staying on even while it is being worn.
There is a small clip with one wire on it at the base of the seat belt where it connects to the floor. It might be broken, or the switch inside the belt clip is faulty. If the wire is fine and connected the belt clip side needs replacing
My 1999 Dodge Ram has three wires coming from the drivers seat, one a LG/RD, has nothing to do with the SCM, unless data is sent from the (IC) Instrument Clusters' seat belt warning lamp driver. Am I correct?
The lamp issue appears during cold weather at times and I'm beginning to think there maybe thermo issues within the IC module?
Plus, when the seat belt is retracted with ignition on, no chime or seat belt lamp indication on IC.
What's going on? And I'm an electronics tech.
I will not replace the IC/SCM/PCM due to high costs...I'll live with this issue.
