Hi, 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport around 40k miles. 3.3L V6 Engine light has been on solid for two weeks. Code is 1491 which is a problem with the Radiator Fan Control Circuit. Are there any techs out there that know what I need to do? What part needs to be replaced. Thanks KMP i used my car dodge caravan 2001 3.3l in the morning normaly,i stoped the engine ,take the keys,close the car and leave to my work,when i come back after 7 hours to take my car,i heared the sound of the 2 fans working ,car batterie empty ,i take off the green 40a fan fuse to stop the 2 fans from working,that s my problem,thanks
The relay that is located right usually in the middle of the fans is stuck open.Take that off and take it to the nearest parts store and they should have it in stock.Its kind of a common problem.That relay is designed to finish cooling off the car before they shut off and they'll run with the keys out.If the relay is bad they'll keep on running till the battery is dead..

You will need to replace the relay for the fan because it is stuck on. You can look on autozone.com for free online repair guide. It will have the relay location unless you have a repair manual of your own. But it is the relay.
