I moved my seat back, and when i went to move it forward again, the right side of the seat wasn't moving. Only the left side was moving and forcing the seat to twist to the right side since that side wasn't moving? what can it be? my husband said it's the motor, but if it's the motor, why is only one side being affected? does each side have an individual motor? My car is a 2005 infinity G35 Sedan....not coupe.
I had this problem on my G35/04 and it was the nylon/plastic gear that engages the metal worm drive of the motor (the metal drive grooves the softer nylon gear). Dealers will not sell the gear they wanted to replace the whole seat assembly for big bucks. I searched for gears on google and found a shop that rebuilds speedometers for classic cars (Odometer Gears-1-757-593-3478). I sent them a good gear so they could replicate and it worked. I think it was $50.00, they should still have the mold. Good luck.
It is probably the softer nylon/plastic gear that has a groove in it from the metal worm drive and doesn't spin as fast as the other side. I had one made by "Odometer Gears"--1-757-593-3478 They still might have the mold from my transaction when I sent them a good gear to replicate It was $50.00 in 1/2009.. The sales receipt # was 11754 (might help in finding mold).

The seat adjustment motor which is mounted in the foward part of the lower shroud of the seat has two drive worm gears which are made of a heavy coiled spring if either one of these become loose or the drive portion becomes damaged that side of the seat wont drive in either direction

I have the exact same problem with the same model - right side of the driver's seat won't move back and forth, but all the other seat controls work fine. My husband also suggested the motor.
