Starts but stops almost immediatly (3.4)

Help!!!, I've checked "everything" when it's cold you start it and rpm's start going up and down between 1100's and 500's and after 10 sec's it shuts off!!!!!! but if i don't let it turn off and i accelerate it until get warm, it stays on but with 1500's rpm and 1700's rpm, i changed the EGR valve, with an used one, i changed the TPS sensor too, the MAP too, i cleaned the spark plugs, i got 40 psi on the fuel pressure gauge, so the fuel pump it's good, and a little detail, if i unplug the IAC valve it doesn't make a difference, i'm going up to check the O2 sensors next friday, i was basing myself on the Haynes book, and it makes reference to this kind a problem, with the vaccum hoses and the air intake to everywhere, hoses are right, & and i haven't messed with wiring yet, i.m letting it as a last option,

also does anyone knows something about the check valve that it's under the car, the one is connected to the fuel tank, this one it was leaking fuel from there since i bought it. i just cut it and i reinserted the hose into the fuel tank, but i would like to have my car working how it has to work!

thanx!

it's a 3.4 (V6) as it says in the little comment, and i think if you have a MAP sensor u don't got a MAF sensor, i replaced mine with a used one should i get a new one? cuz personally i've seen the used one it's working cuz if you unplug it the car shuts off!!!, and what about the optispark wire harness is it the power source for the electronic coils module? the one that gives the firing order? or "am i pising out the hole?"

i'll check it but u really think it's the fuel pump? cuz it seems something else or different, being cold the car starts accelerating and decelerating itself but without crossing the 1100's rpms!!!, i'm not doubting about your capabilities bro, but i won't like to buy another fuel pump cuz i bought it like 4 or 5 years ago brand new, 300 bucks men!!!

Optispark is on the 5.7. You said you have 40 psi fuel pressure. Try pinching off the fuel return line and see what the fuel pressure goes up to? Only pinch it for about 5 or 6 seconds.

I would at least check it to eliminate it. Do you have a check engine light on?

It could be your optispark wire harness. i had the same problem with my 95 camaro. but i changed my distributer and the wire. it takes a like 30 sec to set its self.

It sounds like you might have a bad mass air flow sensor .

How can you tell the fuel pump is going out

Sounds more like a clogged catalytic converter or exhaust than a bad fuel pump.

Chevy Malibu Cold Idle Problem

Check the water coolant thermostat. If it is stuck in the "open" position you are heating up all the water in the coolant system and this will take time. The thermostat keeps the water in the engine until warmed up to almost normal running temperature, only then does it allow the coolant to enter the radiator.

I have a 2000 BMW 528, 140,000 miles. On cold mornings my car turns off when I try to warm it up. It starts without any problem. After approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute, the RPM gauge starts to go...

Could be the VANOS Seals. You can buy them for 60.00 and it takes about 5 hours to do (but will save you a lot of money). Follow the steps at this site and you're good to go: http://www.beisansystems.com/

2003 Corolla Winter Cold Start Issue

Don't have a good answer to your problem but the items I'd change would be the coolant temp sensor and the manifold air temp sensor if yours has one. Both will influence the condition you have posted. Also, the rpm's you noted are on the high side of safe on normal cold starts but because in extreme cold the engine oil takes a while to get where it needs to be, I'd consider using a good synthetic. It flows easier and stays on parts without draining off, giving a bit more protection.

Truck starts low idle about 500rpm, sputters then

Does it do this on warm restarts or on cold starts? Have you checked fuel pressure? It sounds like a bad pump, but I would try the filter first.
