When the ignition key is turned all the heaters wiper lights what have you work, also the gear lever clicks when the key is turned. Plenty fuel in car and have tryed to wiggle the stick to see if it had tricked itself into park therefore thinking its in gear. Thats what it seems like but not sure if its that or something totally different. Thanks you guys.
MY guess would be that it's the starter, with an automatic transmission, if the car is not in park or neutral, the car wont even attempt to start, so the clicking sound you say you hear rules that out. Now, im not an "expert" or anything just a guy with some general knowlege, so before you do anything i would recommend having it looked at, but if you feel confident enough, the starter is where i would begin, hope this helps, and good luck.

engine not cranking, no check light, and the only sound is of clicking, dont know what a fuel pump sounds like, sorry. and thanks
Thank you very much, my neighbour knows a bit about cars, just not the automatic transmission so I'll ask him. Thanks again
Is the engine cranking?
Is there a check engine light on?
When you put the ignition in the "on" position, are you able to hear the fuel pump activate?
just get a click and a short whine on turning key
