Power antenna slippage...

1996 Toyota Celica: whatever raises and lowers the power antenna is losing its grip on the antenna.

I can hear the power antenna motor cycling, and if I "help" the antenna get started, it's fine, both up and down.

Seems like a twist of the wrench or screwdriver should fix this - can anyone fill me in on where to look for the power antenna motor and what I should be looking at as far as the connection between the motor and antenna?

This is not a screw correcting problem. The antenna rod is connected to the motor by a rubber-like chain pully. The more you use the more it weakens which means it is designed to spoil.

You have to change it (the antenna). It would not cost much because its about $10 in my country Nigerria.

I think it's a problem with the radio itself. The antenna only responds when the radio is turned on / off. So the antenna sounds like it's working properly.

1996 Toyota Celica GT: car loses power and stalls out.

Check alternator voltage at back of alternator ( big wire ), if you have no less then 13.5 volt's, alternator is ok, check for blown alternator fuse or break at wire from back of alternator to starter then to battery, could be a bad fuse link at starter.

Radio Wiring Help

Never heard of that, Just saw a switch like that on a Honda accord. Raised it and lower whenever you wanted. If you got an aftermarket radio, connect a switch between the Antenna power wire and the receiver antenna power of the radio, you can get the switch at radio shack. A 3-way jump switch should be your option.
