The shifting has problems going from low to high gear. When I'm driving, my speed is around 40mph and the engine rpm is @ 4000. Once I stepped off the gas pedal, the car will automatically slow down considerably more faster than what it used to.
It probably takes off from a stop very sluggish too. It appears your trans is in fault mode "Limp In". The trans controller sees a problem and can't compensate so it stays in second gear. You need to take this to a transmission specialist that can scan the faults and troubleshoot the issue. If you don't know a trustworthy one then I suggest going to the nearest "Five Star Chrysler Dealer". They will have the technical knowledge and training to effectively deal with it. There is a possibility that the software is more of an issue than internal transmission failure. And do yourself a favor, have the transmission serviced after they solve the issue.
Good luck with that and let me know how it goes.
