Hi guys. I bought a nice little silver 5dr rav4 '2000' model recently from a friend in uxbridge. He has been the only owner since new. He has already lost the spare key years ago. Here is my problem: He is a big lad, and on the morning I was to meet him and collect the car he decided to give it a bit of a clean out, he caught his knee on the key and snapped the key in the ignition leaving the fob seperate. The AA got the shank of the key out. Then a bright spark friend of his took the broken key to get a 'copy made' and subsequently lost the broken key... Its TRUE! Anyway, I have a lovely little motor parked on his driveway in uxbridge and cannot get any real guidance how to overcome the issue without parting with several hundreds of pounds. Any ideas would be SO SO welcome. Offers to do it for me even better, I have a 250 quid budget.

Read the diagnostic connectror to see if the key code isn't located there.

If you have a "factory system", cycling the key in the ignition on-off 5 times will shut off the alarm.

It sounds like your ignition lock cylinder has a problem. These can be replaced and keyed to match you present key by a locksmith. Call a locksmith for a estimate.

Check the door lock position and wiring. Look for a closed signal that is probably missing.

My personal suggestion would be to go for these repair catalogs. I know this website www.reliable-store.com that i used to get manuals from, and they have all models online.
I also brought for my 1989 BMW, such old model, they had it
and it was very good manual. Go ahead, I bet.

Hi guys, I recently bought a 2005 citi golf, over the weekend my battery ran low, now the cd player is on safe mode, how can I get the 4 digits code? is there a way to bypass it?

The code is to stop someone being able to use your stereo if they steal it from your car. Unless you have the code in your Owners manual, I would suggest that you may have to go to A dealer and get it from them. They will probably charge a small fee for this and you will have to take some form of proof of ID that you actually own the car. Also, you will need the VIN and all model details off the car.

Fuel filter location

USA?
i looked at wix and fram
both say ,not serviceable.
means not there. 2.4L engine.
so that means its in the tank, part of pump.

the injectors have tight screens. so its not there.
why not do the fuel pressure tests, if there is a problem
or read the operators guide. , (glove box , lost?) and note its missing in the chart?
use the chart, and not guess at parts for maintenance.

The first place to start is the Ford 2001 Owner's Manual.

You can get a .pdf version of the 2001 Ford Taurus Owner's Manual at: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=2001&make=Ford&model=Taurus

It has instructions and guides for finding and replacing the fuses in a 2001 Ford Taurus. It starts on page 146-147.

Always use the specific Owner's Manual for the correct Model Year of a Ford or Mercury vehicle. I recently purchased a 2001 Ford Taurus, and had thought that I could use the Owner's Manual from a 1999 Mercury Sable from a friend. BUT, I figured out that each model year can be very different (before any serious damage happened.)

check ebay, and then check the dealer. The dealer will definitely have/order it for you. What you will get is the nice sachel it comes in (just like if you bought it new)

2005 mazda 6 can't get the retaining ring on the fuel pump off. Bought fuel pump removal tool but it wont fit inside the space to remove it very well. thinking about cutting the bottom a little bit to make...

There are some suggestions on this problem, man. First thing first, a good chat at the local Mazda car dealer mechanics could be invaluable, as these guys could help you, or you could see a friendly mechanic elsewhere Alternatively, there are Mazda website dedicated to owners who repair their own cars and might post load of suggestions on how to do it yourself queries. Try them.

Battery for 1997 Mazda 323 Astina 5dr hatch

It's fine to use a battery with a higher cold crank rating than original. Consider the rating in the manual to be a minimum requirement. You'll be fine as long as the physical dimensions and terminal placement are compatible with your car. The battery manufacturer's guide should tell you which battery fits your car.
