SOURCE: 2001 Ford taurus #22 fuse (A/C clutch relay PCM

Remember that when you THINK the AC's off,it's really not.Almost all cars have the AC compressor actuate every time you set the dial to `defrost' or `mix' positions.
On a TAURUS there are only two positions(maybe three)which DON'T kick the AC on.On some cars, that's the 11 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions on the selector.

SO...........the odds are that the compressor magnetic clutch or wiring to it has shorted.Because you really have power going there even when you think you don't. (:^) don-ohio

2001 ford Taurus code P1633 what does it mean and how do I fix it ?

P1633 - Keep Alive Power Voltage Too Low

Indicates that the Keep Alive Power (KAPWR) circuit has experienced a power interrupt.

Possible causes:
-Open KAPWR circuit.
-Damaged PCM.
-Intermittent KAPWR Circuit.

First thing would be to check the fuse associated with the KAP. In your case, that would be fuse #22 (10A). If you're A/C doesn't work, then that's why. Usually the A/C clutch causes the fuse to blow and your get your P1633 code.

If the fuse is fine and the A/C works, then it might be a bad PCM. If the battery was bad before it might have set this code. Have you tried clearing the codes to see if it comes back or not?

2001 for tarous code p1633 what does that mean

P1633 means KAM (keep alive memory) power is low. The power that goes to the vehicles computer to hold its memory when the key is off has lost its power. I would start by checking fuses in the fuse panel in the engine compartment(near the radiator support). If the fuses are all good then I would test for power at the computer connector which is also in the engine compartment behind the engine. I don't have the pin number or wire color at the moment (I apologize) since the Ford website is down at the moment. I have repaired this problem in the past by installing another power wire to feed the circuit essentially bypassing the original circuit.
Hope this helps

Internal Control Module Keep Alive Memory (KAM)

P0603 means Internal Control Module Keep Alive Memory (KAM) Error

In other words, that code is set when the PCM loses "keep alive" memory B+.

This code can also be set if the batteries went dead at some point, but mainly it means there is an open circuit detected in the KAM circuit.

On a '97 F-250, check for a 5 amp fuse blown in fuse cavity #2. If the fuse is blown, check for and repair the short-to-ground in circuit #729 (red with white coloured wire).

Good luck dear.
